Although kiteboards look similar to a wakeboard, that is not the point. Kiteboards were designed for kiteboarding, and have many technical advantages that make it easier and more enjoyable. After testing hundreds of boards, we have selected a few kiteboards to make sure you get the best selection. We offer the largest selection of kiteboards online.

Step 1 – Prepare your Quiver before Buying

It is a good idea to buy two kiteboards. One large and one smaller. This is better than buying one medium-sized kiteboard. Here’s why.

  • Because you use less kite power, big kiteboards are easier to learn. You can also stay afloat for longer periods of time so that you can make mistakes and not sink immediately.
  • You can go out in lighter winds with big kiteboards, so you’ll always need a large board for summer winds. You can get off the beach and into the water with larger kiteboards.
  • The wind range of your kite(s) will be dramatically increased by two kiteboards. Kiteboards cost less than kites, so they are a good investment. Big board for learning and light wind. Small board for high wind and jumping
  • For tricks and jumping, smaller boards are more effective.

For beginners, a bigger kiteboard is better than a smaller one.

  • 125 lbs to 150 lbs – 134x41cm Size Kiteboard.
  • 150lb to 180lb – 140x43cm kiteboard.
  • 180lbs to 220lbs – 142x45cm kiteboard.
  • 210 lbs or more – 146×46 cm size kiteboard.

The larger boards can have more surface and prevent you from sinking immediately. This allows you to fly a smaller kite with more power. These boards are great for planning ahead and keeping you on the water, even when making mistakes.

Low wind riding requires larger kiteboards, which are most common in the middle part of the summer.
